The Aid Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation as part of its agenda for the month of June is planning two weeks of visits to the offices of different Ministries and other government institutions, INGO and UN Agency offices.
The Unit was established with the purpose of acting as a link between the Government and Aid Agencies by providing necessary information and aligning Agencies to Ministries best suited to assisting them fulfil the objectives of the projects that they bring into the country. Therefore, in fulfilling this role, the ACU, after having met with different members of all the institutions separately and sporadically, resolved that it would be better to enhance the relationship with all its partners by taking the time to pay a courtesy call to each of their offices.
The visits shall stretch from Monday 7th June to Sunday 13th June 2010. After visiting all the offices, the ACU plans to publish a report on the progress and achievements of these efforts , and will proceed to distribute copies to all the stakeholders. It is hoped, that this shall kick start the process of free information sharing, that will enhance and harmonise the overall working relationship between the stakeholders.
